Do you want to be happier in your life? 99% of people want to be happier and the good news is there are many ways to do this, quickly and simply. The key is to know what to do and with our super busy lives its pretty awesome it can be done in only one second a day!
Developing an attitude of gratitude is one of the techniques used by psychologists in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help people who are clinically depressed and it can also be used to increase the levels of happiness of those of us who just want to be happier. One way to appreciate how lucky you are is to start a happiness diary. Write down three things every night that made you happy, or appreciative for, during the day – could be a great meal, a smile from a stranger, a ray of sunshine on the first frost of autumn. There are many who can’t taste great fresh food, who can’t see or others who can’t smile – if you want to feel gratitude for how lucky we are, then spend some time driving for the local hospital or volunteer for the local hospice or food bank. I know what you are thinking – great ideas, but I haven’t got the time to do that – hence the reason for this message. I have just been introduced to a free app “1 Second Everyday” which enables you to upload a one second video or photo from your day which gives you a moment of happiness or gratitude – when you are feeling down just play your year and realise how lucky you are. Spend more of your time thinking about all the good things in your life rather than the sad bits!
Try it – I can guarantee if will make you feel happier in your life and all it takes is one second a day!! Enjoy!
