We have hosted a number of different Welcome to Excellence courses and as such have had the opportunity to meet a number of trainers. All of the trainers have been very engaging and have a wealth of knowledge on their course subject matter. Our team members have really enjoyed the training; the training techniques offer a mixture of PowerPoint input, written exercises and discussions. The resources provided are also of a very high quality.

The Welcome All course provided a thoroughly enjoyable opportunity to take a fresh look at our own customer service as well as gaining a deeper understanding and practical tips for how we can improve what we offer to provide a welcoming experience for visitors with disabilities or additional requirements.  It was well-delivered, mixing the right amount of theory with interactive elements to maintain interest and working alongside a varied group from the tourism industry provided additional opportunities to learn from each other. I left the course with a new burst of enthusiasm and plenty of ideas.

We chose Welcome to Excellence after hearing excellent feedback from other Trusts who had undertaken the training. The fact that those participating in the Delivering Service Excellence in Health and Social Care course can attain a nationally recognised City and Guilds Award at Level 2 in Customer Service Delivery was also important to us as we believe in investing in our staff.We were really impressed with the training programme, which was aligned to fit in with our trust values, and the useful tools and techniques that staff learnt to improve their customer service skills. The trainers are fantastic and we look forward to more members of staff completing the training and sharing their new skills with colleagues, which can only benefit our patients.

West Dorset Leisure Holidays

I attended the Welcome Host Gold training in Exeter along with my colleague and I just wanted to say how wonderful we thought Sue was as a trainer.  We have both attended training courses in the past (not with Purple Cloud), but have found that they can leave you a little sleepy. However, this was not the case yesterday. Sue made the training interactive, interesting and even fun. She had a really engaging personality and training approach. I appreciated not being presented with a book and working through it page by page as I have had in the past, but the day still flowed nicely and I feel we still covered everything.  It was great how she involved everybody without putting anyone on the spot, so even those who were a little shy could speak up as and when they wanted. Overall I can honestly say it was the best training day I have attended in recent years, and the content was able to be applied to the range of businesses that were there on the day. This made it easy to think to yourself how they could be applied to your own business, customers and circumstance.

Cotswold Inns and Hotels Ltd are a group of six privately owned hotels in the Cotswolds. They have made extensive use of Welcome to Excellence training since the company was formed nine years ago. Heather Hass, who organises the training, says ‘All our Reception, Housekeeping, Bar and Restaurant staff go through Welcome Host training. The trainer comes to us and carries the training out in-house. We have always been impressed by the quality of the trainers. They have hands on experience of the hotel business and so their approach is always down to earth and engaging.’

I recently attended the Win More Conferences and Events course. I had only been in my current position of Hospitality and Events Manager for two weeks and couldn’t have attended a more appropriate course at this time. I found the instructor to be very knowledgeable in her field. The content of the course covered a wide variety of elements all relevant for anyone working in the Conference and Events industry. There was so much to take away and action immediately and much more to develop at a later date. I had a two hour journey each way to attend this course and was glad I made the trip. If I was scoring this course it would get a 10/10 for trainer, venue, content and relevance.
